Welcome to my blog! My name is Lauren, and I’m happy to have you here.
I am a registered dietitian and food-lover based in Ontario (Canada) with a big interest in digestive health disorders (aka tummy troubles). I completed a Bachelors degree in nutrition at the University of Guelph in 2014, and a combined Master of Public Health and dietetic internship at the University of Toronto in 2016.
In 2014 I was diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and I now follow the Low FODMAP Diet to manage my symptoms. I know what it is like to live with daily digestive issues, and I have felt embarrassed to speak about my health issues. When I first looked for IBS information online I found mass amounts of conflicting information. It was hard to find credible sources of information on digestive health. I struggled through making a huge dietary change and finding foods I could eat by myself.
But I made it through that tough period in my life, and I realized I could help others who were feeling alone, hopeless, and frustrated. I am lucky to have an opportunity to use my education and training to help those who are experiencing similar health issues.
My three key messages for this blog are:
On this blog you can expect to see articles about digestive health and recipes. Every recipe I post will be both low FODMAP and gluten-free, and many will also have vegan/vegetarian options.
